2023 - Enhancing our Customers' Experience

2023 - Enhancing our Customers' Experience

2023 was a memorable year for many reasons. We started with a newly designed and re-envisioned website offering an improved user experience with access to more scientific content. We also added a new customer support center to provide quick and secure access to technical materials, user guides, software downloads, documentation, and support tickets. We introduced our new searchable FlowCam bibliography that compiles scientific publications written about FlowCam methodology, techniques, and applications. You can search by author, instrument, publication, date, and keywords. Check it out for yourself.

customers-in-flowcam-lab-flowcam-universityOur online FlowCam University curriculum for FlowCam 8000 received an update, and we launched our first in-person FlowCam University training program at our Maine headquarters in the fall. We welcomed customers working in biopharmaceuticals and aquatic customers from freshwater and marine applications. This provided a wonderful opportunity for in-depth training and for our customers to learn from one another. We're planning more in-person FlowCam University training events for late spring-early summer in 2024. Stay tuned for your chance to register.

We organized several informative webinars. We hope you enjoyed them, and if you missed the live broadcast, here are the links. Orthogonal & Complementary Techniques for Subvisible Particle Characterization in Biotherapeutics, Flow Imaging Microscopy for Subvisible Particle Analysis in Protein and Cell & Gene Therapies, and “HAB Monitoring and Particle Characterization in a Municipal Environmental Laboratory” We plan to continue producing webinars and have a few scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. Keep an eye out for the announcements.

It was great connecting with customers and partners in person at many conferences around the globe. Among others, we attended the annual meeting of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) in Palma de Mallorca Spain, (the first in-person meeting since COVID-19), AAPS PharmSci 360, in Orlando, FL, and the International Conference on Harmful Algae (ICHA) in Hiroshima, Japan.

We've also expanded our sales team with the addition of Darin Fogg, our new Director of Global Sales, and Daniel Rey, our new European Business Manager. Anahita Haghizadeh joins us as a Scientific Sales Manager, and Kate MacKinnon is our new Sales Operations Manager. Meet our new team members at some of our upcoming trade shows and conferences.

It has been a busy year for community involvement as well. Since 2011, the FlowCam Aquatic Research Grant has been accessible to qualified graduate students and undergraduate faculty who wish to utilize a FlowCam instrument during a semester of their choice to support their research and educational objectives. This year, we granted an award to Dr. Brian Beal, a professor of marine ecology at the University of Maine at Machias (UMM). Stay tuned for our upcoming announcement regarding the launch of the submission period for the 2024 FlowCam Grant in the next few months!

SPMS-3We had a wonderful time visiting South Portland Middle School as part of Maine Bioscience Day. Hosted by the Bioscience Association of Maine, this event provides an opportunity for science professionals from across the state to showcase the various ways life sciences are being researched and applied right here in our home state.

Lastly, being recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Maine for the 6th time was an incredible honor. This achievement truly validates our commitment to creating a positive and thriving work environment for our employees. 2023 Best Places to Work in ME logo

We extend our gratitude to all our customers and colleagues with whom we worked in 2023. Thank you for your continued support. As we set our sights on 2024, and we are excited for the new opportunities and experiences that lie ahead. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year.
