2021 - The FlowCam Year in Review

2021 was a year that brought many changes to all of us. Among the most significant for the FlowCam team was the return to traveling for demonstrations, installations, training & services, and in-person conferences. Given the success of our remote training options, we continue to offer online training via FlowCam University and individual virtual demonstrations and training.

We added a new member to our FlowCam Family of instruments; FlowCam LO is the first instrument to combine light obscuration with flow imaging microscopy. In FlowCam LO, a single sample passes continuously through two flow cells in a single instrument. The first uses FlowCam technology to capture digital images and the second uses the light obscuration method to collect data for USP regulations.

We continue to innovate and improve upon VisualSpreadsheet with a new release of version 5.7. We incorporated your feedback in our updates which cover several categories including improvements to context file functions, enhancements to classification templates, and modifications to the user interface and calibration process.

In November we sponsored a webinar with Dr. Danny Chou, who discussed the Role of Orthogonal Techniques in the Detection of Protein Aggregation during Biopharmaceutical Development. The webinar is available to watch on-demand.

Among the content we produced, there is a new white paper - Measuring Subvisible Particles and Aggregates using FlowCam LO.  We also created a new eBook, the Ultimate Guide to Flow Imaging Microscopy for Aquatic Life Sciences, and produced two new technical notes about using preservatives for phytoplankton samples.
