Laboratory Instrumentation Firm To Unveil Particle Image Analysis Software At Pittcon Booth #4352

Edgecomb, ME: Laboratory instrumentation firm Fluid Imaging Technologies, Edgecomb, Maine (www.fluidimaging.com) has introduced VisualSpreadsheet©, a particle image analysis software program that organizes the wealth of images and other data acquired through the company’s FlowCAM® particle analysis instrumentation for fast, easy analysis in a visual environment based on an Excel spreadsheet. To be unveiled at Pittcon® 2006 on March 13 in Orlando, Fla.., the interactive VisualSpreadsheet software enables laboratory technicians, process engineers, quality assurance managers and others involved in chemical, environmental and life sciences to view hi-res, digital images of each individual particle sampled and access its corresponding data set including size, length, width, shape, fluorescence and other parameters with a single click. Once accessed, the particle image and data may be emailed to colleagues for review, saved in a library of particles of interest, dragged and dropped into multiple bins for generating additional data sets and archived for legal documentation, among other options.

Offered pre-loaded with the FlowCAM as an option for $2,495.00 and for retrofit on units in the field for $1,000.00, the intuitive VisualSpreadsheet software installs in seconds and may be operated with virtually no training by anyone familiar with a spreadsheet. VisualSpreadsheet and the FlowCAM are ideal for analyzing organic and inorganic fluid-borne particles ranging from .5um to 3mm in size with positive visual identification from as minute as 5um.
